Dr.Jayan Thomas is an eye MD by profession. A keen birdwatcher and a bird photographer. He has presented a number of papers in the Birding journals of India. He has created a National record for being the first Indian to ever photograph the Buff-breasted Sandpiper in South Asia. Has contributed to the Oriental Bird Club data base images.

Dr. Khaleel Chovva

Dr.Khaleel Chovva is the Honorary adviser to The Kerala Sandpiper Bird watching Holidays. He has a doctorate in biological science and formerly the Director of Department of Environmental Studies of Kannur University. He is a well known bird watcher and an excellent bird photographer. He has a number of bird publications to his credit and has penned a few bird books. He attended RAMSAR wetland convention at Romania and many other international conferences at Japan, Taiwan, Malaysia, Kuwait, Indonesia, Singapore and Sri Lanka. He is the Director of Environmental Programmes of OISCA International SI Chapter. Dr. Khaleel is the first to take photographs of some rare birds like Bristled Grassbird in South India.

LONG TOED STINT..

The Long toed Stint is a rare winter visitor to India. It's an elegant looking Stint with long legs and upright posture. It breeds in Eastern Russia and small numbers move to India during migration each year . This snap was taken by Dr. Jayan Thomas when the bird came to Kannur in February 2017.
